The picture above sums it all up. Me and Ol' Cotton getting the youngsters trained up. That was a great night. Ol' Cotton was about 13 years old still doing it... and Zoom was about 8 to 10 months old right in there with him...

I have been coon hunting for 20 plus years. I am a pleasure hunter, however I'm not at all against competition hunting. If/when I have an exceptionally great dog, I will have it in the hunts and shows. Zoom is showing that potential.

I do not and will not have a dog in my kennel that is not a coon dog. I admittedly have good average/above average dogs. Unfortunately, great one's are extremely rare. There are very few that even exist. All we can do is breed smartly to try and produce great ones. That's what I am trying my best to do.

Zoom is the  was born July 5th 2017. He is straight off of Dohoney's Tom Horn. I took a road trip to Indiana to buy him from Mr. Mike Dohoney, a living legend to the Walker breed. Zoom is coming along nicely.

Zoom is a fast learning, no nonsense, fast tracking, hard treeing natural young coon dog. He's the loudest dog I've ever owned. That comes as no surprise. Mr. Mike Dohoney told me when I bought Zoom his mother is the loudest female he has ever owned.

Like other dogs I've raised with the same bloodline, he has shown very little interest in running trash. He ran a deer one time for a short distance early in his training and one shock treatment seemed to cure that problem. He is yet to tree a possum, however I kind of wish he would so I can nip that in the bud also. Showing little interest in running trash is a trait I want in my kennel and I am fortunate enough to have it.

Zoom is over a year and a half old now trailing and treeing in style. He is also getting better every time. He's young, full of energy, and hard headed but when the dog box opens, he knows what to do and he is doing it well. I'm definitely not saying or thinking he is the best or is going to be the best in the world, but he is doing what I want, and I like that...

I have been fortunate to have a few really good dogs in the past... They will not be forgotten.
